The Biology Student Association, commonly known as Himabio, is a student organization of the Biology Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Tanjungpura. Himabio plays a vital role as a platform for biology students to develop their potential, express their aspirations, and enhance coordination both internally on campus and externally with outside parties. This organization serves as a liaison among students, lecturers, and other institutions, supporting the creation of an active, innovative, and collaborative academic environment.

Himabio was officially established on May 26, 2003, by a decree from the Head of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Tanjungpura. The first chairperson of Himabio was Indra Aminulla, a Biology student from the class of 2002. Since its inception, Himabio has been dedicated to supporting the development of Biology students based on IMTAQ (Faith and Piety) and IPTEK (Science and Technology).

As a concrete expression of this commitment, Himabio implements various programs aimed at enhancing students’ academic and extracurricular skills. These initiatives include the Biology Study Club, the Biology Academic and Non-Academic Club, Sports Training, the Creative Lab, and numerous other activities conducted in collaboration with external partners. Through these efforts, Himabio actively contributes to the development of biology students who are competent, possess integrity, and are prepared to advance science and society.
